Legal teams are already increasingly leaning on agentic tools for more of their daily tasks. Legal research, retrieving clauses from approved libraries and amending documents, and other daily tasks are finding their way into AI workflows. Now, first-draft generation is  available as a workflow in Claude with the Avvoka MCP in the official Claude connector directory.

Link your account once, and Claude can work with your Avvoka workspace directly: search the template library, draft from one with the details filled in, check where a negotiation stands, export the finished file as Word or PDF files. All without leaving the chat.

What you can do

A few tools our early users reached for first:

  • "What NDA templates do we have?" – Claude searches your library and packs, and shows what each one needs: placeholders, parties, the documents a pack will produce.

  • "Draft an NDA for [counterparty] from our standard template – 2-year term, English law." – Claude drafts it in Avvoka with the details filled in. Template packs work too, so one request can produce the full bundle.

  • "Find our most recent unsigned documents." – search by name, status or date; see participants; chase what's stalled.

  • "Export it as a PDF." – or Word, straight from the chat.

It also reaches your clause libraries, so Claude can tell you which variants of a clause you hold before anyone starts improvising.

The part that matters

Every document Claude produces through the connector comes from your automated templates – your clause logic, your approved language, your house style. The AI handles the conversation and context. Your structure handles the drafting.

That's an architectural choice. Deterministic drafting and creative drafting are two different jobs. An AI generation tool guesses fresh every time, which is fine for a first idea but dangerous for the fiftieth NDA. Drafting infrastructure is what turns that guess into your own standard. Claude is a new way to reach it.

Access, security and setup

  • You sign in with your own Avvoka credentials, over OAuth.

  • Your existing Avvoka permissions carry over. People see only the templates and documents they could already see.

  • Admins choose the access level: read-only, or read and write.

  • Signed and locked documents can't be modified.

  • Your Avvoka administrator switches the connector on for the organisation – nothing is exposed by default.

Setup takes about five minutes: add your Avvoka address in Claude's connector settings, sign in, authorise. The step-by-step guide is here. You'll need a Claude Team or Enterprise plan.

Where this is heading

Claude is the first tool we've connected this way. What matters more is what that makes possible.

Your templates, clause logic and precedents shouldn't sit locked inside one interface, ours included. They're infrastructure: an engine any tool your firm trusts should be able to call on, so drafting works the same way wherever your team happens to be typing, and comes out the same, firm-grade, every time.

Claude is the here and it won't be the last. More to come soon.
